Export Live Photo to GIF & Video
Stop struggling to share your Live Photos! Learn how to transform them into widely-supported GIFs and standard MP4 Videos so you can send them everywhere.
Overview
A major drawback of Apple's Live Photos is that they are notoriously difficult to share outside of the Apple ecosystem. Sending a Live Photo to an Android device or posting it directly to many web forums usually results in a static, lifeless JPG.
With LivePhoto.Online, you can easily extract the moving component of any Live Photo and export it as an animated GIF or a standard MP4 video, making it instantly sharable across all social media and messaging platforms!
The Conversion Process
Step 1: Uploading the Live Photo (The .MOV Component)
When you transfer a Live Photo from your phone to a computer, it is actually split into two files: a high-res image and a short .mov video file.
Simply drag and drop the .mov or .mp4 file of your Live Photo into our tool! The maximum allowed upload size is 50 MB.
Step 2: Customizing Framerate & Settings
Once our local engine safely processes your video, you have multiple customizable parameters:
- Framerate (FPS): Lowering the FPS helps compress the GIF size immensely. For a smooth MP4, 30 FPS is advised. For a lightweight GIF, 15 FPS works wonderfully.
- Aspect Ratio & Scale: Trim out the edges if you only want the subject in focus.
- Quality: Tweak this slider to balance between a compressed file size or higher lossy quality.
Step 3: Export
Click export! Wait mere seconds, and your file will be available. Best part? There's absolutely no server processing. The FFmpeg engine spins up inside your local web browser, meaning your family moments stay incredibly private, and speeds are instantaneous.
FAQ
Does the GIF have audio?
No. Traditional GIF formats do not support audio tracks. If you want to retain the funny sounds recorded alongside the Live Photo, you must use the Live Photo to MP4 output option!
